Job training program for 16 to 25-year-olds hosted by Power Center Community Development Corporation and Gifted Education Foundation.

Participants will learn skills for jobs that start at $15/hr, and everyone who completes it is guaranteed a job interview with FedEx. The interest meeting is January 8 at the New Direction Hickory Hill youth campus, 5777 Winchester Rd., 6 pm.



Director of Mission Services

The Director of Mission Services will develop and direct new services and programs to continually meet community, employee and client needs. The Director of Mission Services will represent and promote Goodwill in the community to a broad spectrum of organizations and individuals that include service providers, government agencies, educational institutions, employers, community leaders, community associations, and potential clients. Candidate must possess the ability to brainstorm, problem-solve and make decisions independently, build, motivate, delegate, and hold team members accountable for the completion of responsibilities. Candidate must demonstrate effective leadership skills, and the ability to work well with business leaders, as well as community leaders. The Director of Mission Services must possess the ability to effectively relate to individuals with various disabilities, personalities, and cultural backgrounds. Successful candidate must have a proven history of working with other community agencies and contacts in a partnership atmosphere; as well as a proven record of successfully developing and maintaining community programs. Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in Social Work, Case Management, Counseling and/or related field.  Master Degree a plus. 3+ years of Management and Supervisory experience a must. 3+ years of Accounting and Budgeting experience preferred. Good Partner Coach

The Good Partner Coach is responsible for providing individuals and families comprehensive, “single point of contact” case management as part of a seamless service delivery design including personal and career counseling, life and work coaching, linkage to and advocacy with organizational and community resources. The Good Partner Coach will ensure that individuals and families receive those services from Goodwill, strategic partners, and other community resources consistent with the mission, identified outcomes and their plans, which enables them to become as self-sufficient as possible. The Good Partner Coach will provides a full array of case management services with an outcome focus on career development and preparation, employment, job retention, career advancement, home ownership, and strengthened family relationships and functioning. The Good Partner Coach advocates and ensures that participants are linked with the resources and supports necessary to address and resolve barriers to self-sufficiency internally, with community agencies, strategic partners, and community resources in a timely manner. Candidate must be knowledgeable of workforce development strategies, techniques, and best practices. The Good Partner Coach must possess the ability to effectively relate to individuals with various disabilities, personalities, and cultural backgrounds. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work preferred or (5) years of experience in case management or related field; experience preferably within a community based setting performing community organization, community resource coordination, resource brokering, career and personal counseling. Qualified applicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter, resume and salary requirements


Temporary Part Time position that involves the coordination of weekly events of employees assigned to Project D.A.R.E3 to include scheduling facilitators, assigning facilities, and assisting with workshops.

The incumbent will work 20 hours per week. This is a temporary position that is not eligible to receive State Benefits.

Conduct phone screenings of candidates to determine cohorts for each session.

Assist with marketing ideas to promote monthly Job Readiness Outreach Workshops for surrounding neighborhoods.

Maintain and update social media sites.

Help generate reports to track the outcome and progress of Project D.A.R.E3 to include evaluating pre and post surveys.

Maintain portfolios of individuals participating in Project D.A.R.E3 program to include attendance tracking, participation, interaction with facilitators/mentors, and documenting assessments results.

Assist with monthly Job Readiness Outreach Workshops for surrounding neighborhoods.

Performs other related duties as required or directed.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communication, or Business related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree. Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Knowledge of recruitment processes.
Knowledge of MS Office Software to include Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of marketing techniques including social media sites.
Strong communication skills.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Strong organizational skills.

Ability to use spreadsheets effectively.

Ability to multitask.

Job Coach

Will facilitate life skills training, job readiness, and career development workshops with the specific goals of teaching clients necessary to enter the workforce at a level of competency and consistency; track & maintain client attendance reports, complete client intake, assessments and individual progress plans as well as career services counseling.  The successful candidate will be able to communicate written and orally with the ability to write and speak persuasively; and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in employment placement, job readiness. Bachelor’s Degree in education, counseling, psychology and/or social work field preferred.  Must have experience working with the disabled population in a job readiness workshop environment.  Experience teaching or working in a janitorial, customer service, warehouse/distribution environment is a plus. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
