Help Pastor David Gillard and the Faith Center family feed 20 OR MORE families AND feed another 80 OR MORE homeless. They’re thankful for the people who have already been a blessing!

They want to use half for gift cards for dinner for a night for families and half for homeless grab bags. They literally ran out last time and it broke hearts to turn the others away. Life can change in the blink of an eye for ANYONE; be thankful.

So as you donate, they donate. Faith Temple serves some form of outreach EVERY WEEK, small or large and privately. SO today’s CashApp Friday is dedicated to the FEED and bless others. Summer months are hard on families with children at home.

PASTOR’S ORIGINAL POST

I need a 100 people to sow a $20 seed to help me feed a 100 people this week. Sow today into our outreach movement. The vsion is to supply dinner for 20 families (Dinner on The Kingdom) and feed 80 homeless brothers, sisters and kids. It’s easy to look over this post but it’s also easy to go from eating what you want to eating what you can.

Thanks in advance!

NAVIGATORS NEEDED FOR PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT

As a Buddy/Navigator, you have the awesome privilege of greeting an individual who is homeless at the door and becoming his/her buddy for the day!

By assisting your buddy in completing paperwork and serving as an advocate to ensure that he/she receives the services that they wish to take advantage of during the event, you play the most important role in the Project Homeless Connect process.

Available Shifts:
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Some may have difficulty reading or writing. Some may be afraid to approach service providers without reinforcement. Last year, at least 800 individuals attended Project Homeless Connect to receive services. This year’s event will require a much larger team of volunteers than we currently have…and the event is two weeks away.

Can we count on you? To sign up, please go to http://cp.mcafee.com/d/FZsScy0srhoopvo78TjdCQkkkm7QTT6jqaaab3Wrya9ISrdG-GIjBise8RcCX-YOaThtKaKK446rf-aCzBQsg5m43hOCaWwMMaI-w-ygtoIgvKrdCPpI05rnpA-00UJmcZfOGTMbCqDJMD_NbRmmH6rs9jBZ3pJMQsFCPtPqpJUTsTsSyrh

Please select the shift that works best with your schedule. Lunch and an event t-shirt will be provided for all volunteers.  Volunteers who serve in this capacity must be at least 18 years of age.

Saturday, October 10th will mark the international observance of World Homeless Day.  Since its inception in 2010, this day has been set aside to draw attention to the needs of homeless people and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness.  As a part of the Mayors’ Action Plan to End Homelessness, citizens of Memphis and the Mid-south are encouraged to impact the lives of homeless people in their local communities by volunteering or donating to Project Homeless Connect.  This massive event will take place on October 15th at the Memphis Cook Convention Center, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Project Homeless Connect allows individuals who are experiencing homelessness to access a wide array of resources and services that are needed to leave homelessness.  These services include healthcare, dental care, mental health services, housing referrals, employment services, legal advice, and more.  Organized by the Community Alliance for the Homeless, the event also provides homeless individuals with breakfast, lunch, and an assortment of personal care items. This annual event mobilizes city agencies, community organizations and volunteers to ensure that participants receive holistic care in a dignified setting.

Volunteers are invited to lend their hearts and hands by clicking here, or you may sign up through Volunteer Memphis. For more information about World Homeless Day, please visit www.worldhomelessday.org.
