Background Info:

The Architecture+Design Summer Program, celebrating its 13th anniversary in 2016, is an exciting summer day program developed for high school students who are interested in learning more about the art, science, and practice of design. The camp program is structured around a variety of activities including an introduction to architectural and structural concepts, computer applications, model building, and freehand drawing. The program of study also includes trips to construction projects, visits to architectural offices, and a walking tour of historic sites. Local architects, engineers, landscape architects, and other design professionals serve as guest lecturers.

The program is jointly sponsored by the University of Memphis Department of Architecture and AIA Memphis.

Participants work one-on-one and in groups with U of M instructors, local architects, engineers, landscape architects, and design professionals and culminate their experience with presentation of student projects and a certificate presented to a professional jury, family, and friends.

Students have the opportunity to attend camp for free for the duration of the summer.  We are taking up to fifteen school agers (K-6), first come, first serve.  Parent/family will be responsible for cost of weekly field trips and transportation cost (mostly minimal).  Priority will be given to children in Nutbush/Raleigh area. Please bring documentation of address.
