CMI Coach–Mentor Position Description
Responsibilities
• Give general oversight to all aspects of our youth outreach including recreation/sports programs, small groups, outreach opportunities, field trips, and volunteers.
• To grow your designated age group in reach and in depth as a youth coach.
• The primary role is to challenge and mentor the students who are part of your team.
• Represent MAM to the greater area Memphis.
• Provide progressive opportunities for team members so that they develop a concern for others.

Character
• Need to reflect strong character values in their lives
• Need to be pursuing a lifestyle of reaching out across racial lines
• Need to be able to strike the balance between challenging students’ growth and expectations while enjoying the fun season of life that they are in
• Need to be able to see the inherent value of each student showing no partiality.
• Need to be able to engage and help students and parents in a way that would never arouse suspicion about the moral integrity of yourself or MAM.

Skill
• Be able to organize and implement effective small group activities in order to engage and challenge students to a passionate commitment to loving others.
• An interest to use sports as a connecting point with kids (playing and coaching).
• Be able to vary the methods necessary, to meet the needs of MAM.
• Be able to develop a relationship with the parents of our students in such a way that not only do they feel informed and included in the MAM program, but challenged to see MAM as a support for parents to educate their children and prepare them for life.
• Be able to work with others and through others by recruiting, equipping and encouraging.

General
• Report to a MAM Neighborhood Director for encouragement and accountability to your goals and job description
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Attend additional MAM staff development meetings as required
• Serve 900 hours over 12 months (March/April 2013-March/April 2014). Exact daily/weekly schedule will be determined by the MAM site director.
• Record all hours on an online time sheet Coach Across America/Up2Us system on a weekly basis.
• Be paid $8.25/hour with the total amount not to exceed $7,425.00.
• Be put on Coach Across America/Up2Us payroll, paid twice monthly, and have all relevant taxes taken out of each check.
• Receive a $2,000.00 Education Award upon successful completion of the CMI program.

This is a part-time position working at the Bartlett Recreation Center.  Responsibilities include conducting and implementing safe, fun, age appropriate activities for youth ages 6-12.  May require improvising and minor planning of activities.  Will be responsible for supervising children ages 6-12 in a structured setting.
This is a part-time position working Monday through Thursday evenings from 4:45 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Will be required to work some holidays, weekends and special events.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MATERIAL HANDLER NORTHRIDGE UNIT PICK B2 SHIFT

Job Location: Memphis, TN

As our Material Handler, you’ll perform various general warehouse duties at our distribution facility in Memphis, TN. You’ll process orders for shipment, including picking, packing, checking and restocking. You’ll also handle computer data inquiries and special processing of customer orders. In addition, you’ll operate lift equipment and handle other general duties as assigned. This posting is for multiple openings.

Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
– High School diploma or GED
– 6 months’ experience in a warehouse/distribution or manufacturing environment
– Familiarity with computer inquiries and data entry
– Able to read and count accurately and follow verbal and written directions
– Able to perform repetitive motions and lift 20-40 lbs continuously with or without reasonable accomodation
– Able to work overtime as needed with little or no advance notice
– Experience operating lift equipment is preferred

Position: Exercise & Movement Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Church Health Center of Memphis (CHC), a not-for-profit organization; has an opening for a fulltime Exercise & Movement Coordinator (EM Coor.)  in its Exercise & Movement Department.  The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee/coordinate the activities of assigned areas (i.e. – Youth & Children, Group Exercise, and Assessments). The MP Coor works in conjunction with the E&M Manager to help develop, implement and coordinate the programs for the prospective areas. EM Coor oversees the Specialists and the Associates assigned to their area; and will have both primary and secondary responsibility for oversight of non-assigned areas.

Position pay falls in the range of high 20,000’s to low 30,000’s

Flexibility in shift availability is a must as the required schedule for this position is a mix of days, evenings, and Saturdays. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions:

The position responsibilities comprise of the above mentioned tasks and can include:

Oversee the daily activities of Specialist & Associates to include:

-Scheduling, attendance, adherence to policy, and achievement of job responsibility

-Work with E&M Manager to develop, implement, and coordinate programs for assigned     areas

-Teach group exercise and movement classes, games, and activities with youth

-Provide member assessments

-Direct training of E&M Specialists and Associates

-Has overall responsibility for E&M Area during scheduled times (generally evening or weekend shifts)

-Is cross-trained to oversee the non-assigned areas

-Cross-train staff from other areas in order to provide services from the area assigned to Coordinator

-Develop and oversee exercise programs for special population

Education/Experience Requirements:

The qualified candidate should have:

–          A Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or closely related field)

–          Certification in Exercise with Special Populations from ACSM or ACE

–          CPR certified and trained in first aid

–          Three years  or more experience working in a health/wellness related field along with supervisory experience

Special Skills & Knowledge:

Candidate should possess the following skills/knowledge to expertly perform in this position:

–          Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

–          Strong organization skills

–          Proficient computer skills especially  in both Word and Excel

–          Good leadership and instructional skills

–          Professional workplace maturity

–          The ability to transition between both team player and leadership concepts with ease
