Position Summary:

The ChurchHealthCenterhas an opening for a fulltime Registered Nurse (RN) in its Primary Clinic. The overall purpose of this job is to provide the highest quality care and best experience for the patient.  This individual will assist in overseeing the work of ancillary personnel; establish and apply standards of care and practices for the clinic; plan and facilitate the patient flow process; help ensure adequate staffing of clinic personnel; and provide direct patient care.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions:

The RN has a variety of responsibilities as listed above and may include:

–   Help direct patient care and assist providers

–  As directed by providers(s) dispenses medication, perform tests (lab, EKG, pulmonary, treatments),

–  Contact patient with test results and/or treatment plan changes

–  Provide assistance to the medical team in management of the day’s patient schedule and team

floor schedule

–  Use decision making skills based on nursing knowledge to help resolve patient or provider related issues, phone calls, or provided/staff requests (all within provider guidelines)

–  Identifies the need for patient education as directed by the provider

–  Encourages patient participation inWellnessprograms (Commit to Quit, DiabetesWellness, etc) and discuss Model for Healthy Living

–  Assist team to provide most efficient high quality care to patients

–  Participate in performance reviews of MA’s and CA’s and others as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements:

Qualified candidate will have:

–     Graduated from approved school of nursing with RN licensure in state of TN

–     Bachelor’s Degree is preferred- at minimum an Associate’s Degree or Nursing diploma

–     Two to three years RN experience plus (Prefer experience in specialty such as women’s,

pediatrics)

Special Skills & Knowledge:

To expertly perform this job, the following skills are necessary:

–          Knowledge of standard nursing procedures

–          Good interpersonal and communication skills to impart knowledge/resources to patients

–          Second language is a plus

–          Strong management skills (inclusive of the ability to train, motivate, assess, and evaluate staff when requested)
