JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises merchandising clerks as they obtain or receive merchandise, total bill, accept payment, and make change for customers in retail store by performing the following duties.

DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Ensure that Horseshoe policies and procedures are followed by the other merchandising clerks.
Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.

Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.

Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.

Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.

Accepts payment and makes change. Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.

Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.

Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift.

Calculates sales discount to determine price.

Keeps record of sales, prepares inventory of stock, and orders merchandise.

Supports and maintains Horseshoe courtesy guidelines.

Promotes outstanding guest relations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Must have retail supervisor experience in a high volume environment. Experience working with variety of merchandise preferred. Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high quality service levels. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills are required. Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team. Must have a history of developing employees who have been successfully promoted to increasing levels of responsibility. Previous experience designing store layout to increase revenue. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Able to work independently. Able to quickly and accurately perform mathematical computations. Able to conduct conversations with customers and employees. Able to speak distinctly and persuasively to others.

Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to restaurant guests.
Resolves service issues according to the service recovery toolbox
Recognizes Diamond and Platinum players and ensures they receive the appropriate service
Knows and promotes current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas

Cleanliness
Removes dirty dishes, solid linen, glassware, and flatware from table and counter tops, and transports items to designated area
Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station
Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
Deep cleans restaurant equipment (coffee machines, soda and juice dispensers, ice bins), service stations, and refrigerators as scheduled, or required
Operates and maintains equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
Removes and properly disposes of all refuse and debris accumulated in restaurant and service stations in accordance with department procedures

Supplies/Inventory
Maintains par levels of operating supplies (china, flatware, glassware, utensils), condiments, and paper supplies for each service station obtaining replacement stock from warehouse area and/or warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure
Reset tables with silverware, linen, napkins, and glassware in accordance with established restaurant table top specifications

Teamwork
Assists servers in their duties (e.g., refills water glasses and coffee cups, helps serve food orders, attend to guest needs) as required
Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to food servers and restaurant host/ess

OPENING

OPENING
Responsible for the successful overall supervision of the activities of all Associates who work in the Front Desk and Bell Desk areas of the Hotel, ensuring maximum occupancy and optimum guest service and satisfaction.

Guides and supports Front Desk and Bell Desk Associates in the daily performance of their duties.
