Site Based Services Support Full-Time | 40 Hours per week
COMPENSATION: $10.00 per hour
General Purpose of Position: Provide support in the daily operation of the Site.
Responsibilities: Should exhibit a pleasant demeanor with neighbors, agency representatives, and staff when performing daily tasks.
 
Prepare the sites for programs by arranging the available office space to host the programs.
Aggressively recruit participants for OSC, WES, After-School and all other events. (proved by weekly status updates) Recruiting includes physically knocking on tenant’s doors and letting them know about the programs that are available at the site. Recruiting also involves routinely receiving demographic information from the
 
Resident Manager for the purpose of calling, visiting, and disseminating information to those specific tenants who match our programs and their needs.
 
Learn and facilitate online tutoring for After School program.
Submit attendance reports (daily, weekly).
Assist with maintaining an environment for learning during programs.
 
Maintain accurate office files for program participants.
Qualifications and Aptitudes:
·High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
·Clothing and/or grocery retail experience desired.
·Desire to work in urban ministry preferred.
·Ability to lift 20 lbs.
·Must possess interpersonal skills to work with children and adults.
·Must have written and verbal communication skills.
·Ability to demonstrate knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
·Interest in and ability to articulate the NCC Statement of Faith, Mission, and Values.

YOUTH DIRECTOR

POSITION DESCRIPTION:                                                                         

STATUS: Full-Time | HOURS: 40 Hours per week | COMPENSATION: $38,000 – $42,000

General Purpose of Position:

Coordinates the development and implementation of an after school and summer youth program that integrates the resources of a strong youth development team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, track, and manage program outcomes
  • Work with executive leadership and staff to design a cohesive and comprehensive youth development program for youth
  • Oversee implementation of bible study lessons
  • Work with development team to oversee volunteer recruitment and training
  • Develop and implement planning along with project management processes to ensure the effective coordination and integration of the programs and resources
  • Provide support to executive leadership and staff in the areas of planning, management, program execution and communications
  • Collaborate with youth and adult education services management team to ensure the effective coordination of program schedules and related events for youth and families
  • Manage the development and training of youth development staff
  • Assist with funds development for educational programs and youth programs
  • Assist in management of all youth events
  • Foster relationships among local schools, universities, businesses and other community youth and education programs to enhance the development of the learning center
  • Performs any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Chief Programs Officer

 

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent with at least three years’ experience in an administrative or managerial capacity in an organization that provides direct services to youth
  • Experience developing curriculum for youth programs
  • Able to understand and present a bible based curriculum
  • Leadership and management experience in youth services, family engagement and K-12 educational programs
  • Ability to articulate a vision about preparing youth for the future—from social, economic, cultural and personal perspectives—to partners, funders and the community
  • Highly positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others
  • Skills and energies to build a team and lead effective staff development and training
  • Relationship management skills and experience in fostering a team approach to youth development and creating collaboration among partner organizations in youth development
  • Excellent project management and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience and competencies in working in a multiracial, multicultural environment
  • Experience and/or understanding of the development of educational programs in nonprofit or K-12 settings
  • Experience with and/or understanding of the application of information to educational programs for youth in nonprofit or K-12 settings
  • Understanding and application of college readiness programs
  • Adherence to NCC policies/procedures, including safety practices
  • Interest in and the ability to articulate the NCC Statement of Faith, Mission and Values
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurance

PLACEMENT & PROGRAM SUPPORT

JOB DESCRIPTION

STATUS: Part-Time \ HOURS: 25 Hours per week

COMPENSATION:  TBD

General Purpose of Position:

Provide support to the Director in the daily operations of the site.

 Responsibilities:

  • Should have a thorough knowledge of the The House’s departmental policies and procedures manual.
  • Should exhibit a pleasant demeanor with neighbors, agency representatives and staff when answering the phone, greeting guests and neighbors and when performing other daily tasks.
  • Prepare the sites for programs by arranging the available office space to host the programs.
  • Aggressively recruit participants for WorkLife, WES and all other programs and events (proved by weekly status updates). Recruiting includes letting neighbors know about the programs that are available at the site.
  • Should be able to identify the needs of participants to maximize their optimal potential.
  • Create and maintain relationships with participants.  Make follow-up calls to participants as needed.
  • Should be able to identify needs and direct in right direction.
  • Assist with maintaining an environment for learning during programs.
  • Maintain accurate/updated office files for program participants.
  • Utilize the referral information per the departmental manual to assist with other services that NCC may not offer or have the available sources to accommodate the needs.
  • Attend all departmental meetings and program planning sessions.

 

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • Associates’ Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in case management.
  • Desire to work in urban ministry preferred.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills to work with adults.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Klondike Community Development Center, 943 Vollintine St. 38107.  Lunch will be provided.

Community Representative are people from the community willing to attend Child and Family Team Meetings with DCS and advocate on behalf of children and families.  As part of the team a Community Rep. can inform families of resources & services in the community to help meet their needs. You can be “The Change”.
