Our employees support our individuals in their daily activities in their homes and in the community while their families work. We have immediate part – time job openings Mondays through Fridays in the Cordova area.

Position Summary

As a full time role, reporting to the Director of Visible Community Music School, The Community Engagement Manager develops and implements engagement strategies with school partnerships, organizational partnerships, and the target neighborhoods of Orange Mound, Frayser, North Memphis, Binghamton, and Berlair.

Key Responsibilities: Attend community meetings and network opportunities to identify and learn from key stakeholders. Create engagement campaigns. Schedule and manage community events and performances. Manage contact data base. Oversee the creation of marketing materials. Drive web presence through site and social media. To execute additional but related duties as directed by the Director of VCMS.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field or two years of experience in related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of target neighborhoods in Memphis. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiar with social media platforms. Web design experience is highly valuable. A committed Christian faith and acceptance/adherence to the Visible Statement of Faith. At least two years of administrative experience. HUMAN SERVICES WORKER – JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Human Services Worker

STATUS: Full-Time

HOURS: 40 Hours per week

General Purpose of Position:

Provides case management services to parents with children between the ages of newborn (0) and five (5).

 Responsibilities:

  • Should have a thorough knowledge of Compassionate Ministries’ departmental policies and procedure manual.
  • Should exhibit a pleasant demeanor with neighbors, agency representatives and staff when performing daily tasks.
  • Conduct comprehensive social and economic well-being assessments for each parent/care-giver.
  • In conjunction with parent/care-giver, develop an individual action plan for improving the quality of life for self and children.
  • Monitors, tracks & documents parent/care-giver’s progress in achieving goals.
  • Reviews action plans with parent/care-givers at least every 30 days or as needed.
  • Updates and ensures logs and database are current and accurate.
  • Works with local service delivery network to make service referrals
  • Develop collaborative relationships with community based organizations and agencies that provide support services, and resources.
  • Reviews and provides program and client specific summary reports for management review
  • Performs any other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent with one year or more year’s social services experience.

The St Paul Baptist Church will host its annual Health Fair and Back To School Picnic Sunday, August 3rd from 12:30PM to3:30PM.

This is an event like no other because not only will the church give away backpacks full of school supplies, free vision screenings and free haircuts, but kids will also enjoy a game truck, inflatable bouncer, inflatable basketball goal, a race car from Autobahn Indoor Speedway, face painting and Camaro Kings and Queens Car Show will also be onsite.

Parents can get blood pressure screenings and HIV testing at this event also.

Even though food trucks and Parker’s Water ice will be onsite, the church will provide free hamburgers and hot dogs to guests.

This event is open to the public and will take place at St. Paul Baptist Church located at 2124 East Holmes Road. Children must be present to receive school supplies. Documentation not required.

Job Summary:  Responsible for marketing, communications, community outreach and fundraising efforts in support of achieving organizational goals and sustainability.  Creates, develops, coordinates and implements the organization’s marketing, promotions, public and community relations programs to ensure visibility, awareness and education in our service area.  Will develop new relationships, strengthen existing relationships and provide support to the overall organizational development strategy.

Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications:

  • Develop an integrated marketing and communications system to raise brand awareness and focus on increased demand for services and philanthropic support through coordination of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Use print, electronic messaging, websites, social media, photography/videography, programs, inventions, advertising, and media relations to tell compelling stories that explain the organization’s benefits in a tangible way to stakeholders.
  • Coordinates all aspects of internal and external communications, including news media, print/electronic publications, web site and social media initiatives.

Development and Fundraising:

  • Increase fundraising capacity by increasing donor giving and event income in order to maintain current programs, enable future growth, and ensure financial stability for the organization.
  • Work closely with the Board Special Events Committee in organizing successful fundraising events, including handling event details and acquiring sponsors.
  • Perform daily functions of gift solicitation including coordinating, maintaining and evaluating direct mail campaigns.
  • Works closely with the Executive Director in preparing quality proposals, including case statements and development of compelling messages for support.
  • Maintains donor database and provides donor acknowledgments as well as maintenance of donor records, report preparation and monitoring results and effectiveness of fund development programs.

Job Summary: Designing and implementing the overall volunteer program including recruitment, training, placement, evaluation, recognition, retention and reporting for all volunteers and interns; coordination of partner meetings and services under grant requirements; assisting with special event planning; and managing the volunteer staffing requirements for internal and external events.

Recruitment

• Conduct outreach to recruit a diverse pool of volunteers.

• Respond to all volunteer inquiries.

Training

• Conduct comprehensive volunteer orientation, including education on the organization’s mission.

• Reassign or terminate volunteers as needed.

• Provide support for volunteer chaplaincy program and Voices group.

Database Management

• Maintain comprehensive database of all volunteers including contact information, availability and skill-set.

• Track all volunteer hours and prepare monthly reports for management.

Retention and Recognition

• Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program.

• Provide on-going follow-up, support and appreciation for all volunteers.

• Implement best practices for volunteer retention.

Special Event Planning

• Assist with planning, coordination and promotion of special events.

• Assist with event logistics including venue, guests, vendors, marketing.

• Assist with event organizing, including name tags, registration, program materials, gift bags, etc.

• Participate in events to promote FSC and expand awareness.

Regularly attend staff meetings.
