Program Overview

Our Intercept program serves a broad population of youth, including those involved with multiple child-serving systems and those at high risk of removal from their families. The program specializes in diverting youth from out of home placements by helping their families safely maintain youth in their home environment. This position is responsible for providing intensive home-based therapy to families.

Position Overview

Carry small caseload of 4-6 families
Hold family sessions with each family 3 times a week scheduled at the convenience of the families
3 supervision meetings a week
Web-based documentation (voice recognition technology in most locations)
Provide on-call availability to families during the week, one weekend each month
Drive up to 60-80 miles to meet with families in the home
Counselors provide treatment in individual families’ homes in a wide array of settings and communities

Additional Information
Schedule is non-traditional, but flexible and based around clients’ availability. Since counselors are heavily involved with each family, long hours may be required.
Counselors must have their own vehicle to use for work purposes as well as have liability insurance. Counselors are reimbursed for mileage.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Counselors must be fluent in English and Spanish; both written and verbal
A Master’s degree in a social services discipline is required
Experience in a clinical counseling or case management setting
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule

The Memphis Child Advocacy Center is seeking a full-time therapist to provide direct clinical services to child victims of sexual abuse and their families.

Position qualifications: Master’s degree in social work or counseling from an accredited program with at least three years of counseling experience. Experience providing therapy to children required. Experience using

DESCRIPTION:

The Bi-lingual Parent Educator will recruit and maintain a caseload of thirty (30) families; conduct semi-monthly visits to clients; present the “Parent as Teachers” curriculum to clients as well be fluent in Spanish and English.

Summary Description: Develops, coordinates, and facilitates HIV testing and educational programming that is both culturally-appropriate and age-appropriate for Hispanic teens and adults in the Mid-South; Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with other agencies and youth-service organizations serving the Hispanic community and creates opportunities to provide education and HIV testing.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Provides HIV testing, counseling, and RESPECT counseling to PPGMR’s Hispanic Outreach and Health Center clients.

2. Runs a network of HIV testing community locations, including locations that require weekly after-hours testing.

3. Cultivates and maintains relationships with agencies and service providers in the community with a particular focus on creating opportunities to provide outreach education and HIV testing to Spanish-speaking clients.

4. Supports staff in creating educational materials and experiences linguistically and culturally appropriate for Spanish-speaking clients

5. Attends training programs, seminars, conferences, and other meetings relating to the delivery of HIV related services

6. Maintains accurate records of HIV testing, client care and referral, education, and outreach activities.

7. Perform other duties as directed

Job Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in health, education, counseling or related area preferred, fluency in Spanish required.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in health promotion with Spanish-speaking clients strongly preferred; sexual and/or reproductive health experience preferred Skills: Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with youth, parents, community leaders, facilitation, organization, program development, and marketing skills.

The Survey Interviewer supports the implementation of the overall program of data collection for the Department of Epidemiology.  Contacts and schedules interview appointments with participants and conducts telephone interviews.  Performs data entry, electronic data collection, and tracing to support clinical research and ensures efficient, timely delivery.  Prepares files for the various studies.  Works a flexible schedule (e.g. nights and weekends)to accommodate research participant schedules.
