Junior League of Memphis 2015-2016 Voluntarism Scholarship Award

 

The Junior League of Memphis is pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants to compete for our first annual Scholarship Awards for the 2015-2016 academic year. Up to $10,000 will be awarded to deserving female students who are striving to purse a degree at a local 4-year college. Applicants must exhibit leadership qualities and have a strong volunteer history.

Attached are procedures, eligibility requirements and the application for this scholarship. I would appreciate it if you would please forward this on to those who may be eligible for this scholarship and also to your contacts (school counselors, parents, local churches, etc.). Timeline

Jan. 30, 2015: Applications due (including recommendation letters and transcripts)

Feb. 22, 2015: Finalists selected and notified

March 31, 2015: Winners announced via mail or email

April 2015: Winners announced to JLM Membership

Walgreens is searching for candidates for their summer internship position for their Community Management Internship. For ten (10) weeks from May to August, Walgreens will immerse them in the responsibilities needed to learn about store operations, management, merchandising, advertising, inventory, and human resources. If you are a college junior (soon to be college senior), we invite you to apply to this position. Homeless Connect 4 Needs Volunteers

300 more volunteers are needed for this Thursday at the Convention Center.  If you have at least 4 hours in the morning or at least 2 hours in the afternoon, please go to the Community Alliance for the Homeless Website and sign up.  I am conducting training in my class on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in GOH 314 and Wednesday at 3:00 PM in GOH 308.  Spanish language translators are especially needed.  If you have any questions, contact me by email.
