Tomorrow, June 16, 2017, The Mid-South Food Bank will be distributing food at Union Grove Baptist Church located at 2285 Frayser Blvd, Memphis, TN 38127.  Senior Pastor Charlie Caswell is the host pastor.  

A MLGW bill and a government issued ID are required to show proof of 38127 residency. Pre-screening will begin at 10 am.  Distribution begins at 11 am. This is a drive thru mobile pantry. Volunteers will place all food items in the vehicle. Those without a vehicle will need to have someone with them to assist with carrying their items.

Volunteers needed at Libertas School of Memphis to paint, light construction, playground rebuild, gardening and light to moderate cleaning. We are in the process of expanding classrooms to accommodate the success of our children growing to 3rd grade and beyond. We are happy to have you serve at our school at your convenience Monday through Friday 8 a to 1 p.

Attn: If your child still has nothing set for this summer, applications are still being taken for the Summer Learning Academy with SCS. They get free field trips, free lunches, a classroom setting to get them ready for the next grade, free before and after care, free baseball or softball, free t-shirts and free ballet classes. Just go to the school sites today and tomorrow until 6 pm. You will then be put on a waiting list, but they will call you back on Friday. Charter school students do not qualify and take with you, your completed registration for next year.  Grades served depends on the school. Call. Here are the open schools with plenty of spaces:

City University teams up with Mid-South Food Bank!
“We are bringing over 30,000 pounds of food to heavily affected areas in Memphis. Today, we distributed at City University in Whitehaven. Tomorrow, we will be at Orange Mound Community Center at 2 o’clock. We will then take it to Frayser and distribute at the Ed Rice Community Center at 2 o’clock on Thursday.
All clients will need a government issued ID and a MLGW bill with the matching name or address of their ID.  If you know anyone in need, send them our way!”
