“Setting Captives Free” Human Trafficking Awareness Conference – Friday, August 8, 2014

We would like to invite you, your organization, and your departments to come to our “Setting Captives Free” Human Trafficking Awareness Conference.

Where will the training be held?  The training will be held at the Tennsco Community Center, 115 Tennsco Drive, Dickson, TN 37055.  There is plenty of free parking.  Registration and continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 am and training will begin promptly at 8:00 am and end at 5:15 pm.

Who should attend the training?  This is training is for first responders, medical and legal personal, social workers, the faith-based community, advocacy groups, and those wanting to learn more about Human Trafficking.

What will be offered at the training?  Not only will you be able to network with professionals in the anti-trafficking movement; (8) contact hours for professionals; (8) hours POST certification for TN law enforcement. The registration fee is $70 per person, which includes continental breakfast, all conference and training materials, and certificate.

Who will be there?  You will hear from specialists in the anti-trafficking movement, such as: TBI; Internet Crimes against Children Division; the Center for Missing & Exploited Children; law enforcement; rescue teams; first responders; advocates; and survivors.

What will be covered?  Sessions will include: human trafficking 101; victim identification; pimp culture; the impact of human trafficking; TN anti-trafficking efforts; the demand of human trafficking; the role of technology in human trafficking and anti-trafficking efforts; missing and exploited children;  ritual abuse; and questioning techniques; case studies; laws; and you will be part of a very interactive training & discussion.
