Job Title: Data Analyst / Training Specialist

Reports To: Management Information Systems Manager

Employment Status: Full-time

SUMMARY:

Produces aggregated reports using client level data for Agency/Program, Local, Federal, and Community uses. Responsible for understanding and developing reporting templates using a SQL Reporting Service Tool to be used in helping the community understand and resolve issues of homelessness and for meeting HUD reporting requirements. Responsibilities include preparation, dissemination of reports, securing of relevant reports and information, and training end user to successfully operate/maneuver the system. Some local and long distance traveling required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Assisting in the marketing of the management information system and working in close liaison with the department manager.

• Working closely with colleagues and resolve data related problems.

• Conducting research and collecting data for use in continual development needed to meet Agency/Program, Local, State, and Federal reporting needs and requirements.

• Ensuring high quality and integrity of the data entered.

• Processing of data and production of reports on various projects.

• Conceptualizing data and sharing this knowledge through effective presentation of the data output.

• Developing and preparing information to be used for Agency/Program, Local, State, and Federal reporting.

• Developing of data to be used for data analysis and presentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The education and experience requirements listed below are representative of this position’s requirements.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience in information technology.

• A minimum of five years of related experience in a closely-aligned data analysis position.

• Previous experience with SQL Server, SQL database writing, writing procedures, and performing computer maintenance tasks.

• Provide technical assistance and training via phone, online, and/or in person, as required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires sitting approximately 70% of the time, walking/standing, bending, stooping 30% of the time.

• Objects no greater than 50 pounds (such as computers, chairs, files) may be lifted less than 10% of the time.
